Accolades and Awards: Robert Parker - 89 - “The bold , dramatic, unfined/unfiltered 2002 Syrah, Madison Vineyards, is a heady, succulent, layered, deep, chewy effort. It offers plenty of complex blackberry, new saddle leather, earth, and peppery characteristics, loads of flavor, a layered mouthfeel, well-integrated tannin as well as acidity, and a corpulent, heady finish. Sadly, there are only 266 cases. It will drink well for 5-6 years.”

Aging Properties: This Syrah is just getting good and will only get better over the coming 5-8 years.

Food Pairing: Due to its full body, the best complements are full flavored meats like grilled steaks, sausage, spicy pizzas, developed stews and chili. Nevertheless, with the elegance of the wine, grilled fish, Tuscan style, goes equally as well.
